Brave: Empire Bisquits

For our Brave Family Movie Night we made the Bisquits that the triplets devour in the movie. They are a traditional Scottish cookie (Bisquits) that were originally called German Bisquits. Obviously mine weren’t nearly as pretty as they are supposed to be but they sure tasted yummy. I got the recipe from C’est Maman.

Braves: Empire Bisquits

16 Cookies

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 stick real butter, softened not melted
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 pinch salt

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 1/2 Tablespoons water
  • Cherry topper (I don’t like cherry so I actually used Strawberry jam on top)

Beat soft butter with sugar, then add milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Stir well.  Refridgerate for 30 minutes.  While chilling, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drop rounded dough on paper lined baking sheet allowing plenty of room for them to spread. Bake 7-8 minutes until bottom is golden and the top is light and fluffy. Cool and then pour icing on top. Finally topping with cherry or strawberry topping.

Hope ya’ll enjoy the recipe as much as we do!
